Special manoeuvres

Move off, merge, turn around and reverse safely.

When moving off, reversing, turning around, leaving an exit, merging, exiting or changing lanes, let all other traffic go first. This includes pedestrians and cyclists.

Check mirrors and blind spots. Signal in time where required, but an indicator does not give priority. Perform the manoeuvre only when sufficient safe space is available.

Zip merging is not the same as entering from an acceleration lane. When entering, you must yield to traffic on the main carriageway. Cameras and parking sensors assist; look around the car yourself.
