Fog · visibility 40 m

Rear fog light permitted: fog and visibility below 50 metres.

Heavy rain · visibility 40 m

Rear fog light not permitted: rain does not satisfy the weather condition.

Use dipped headlights in darkness and poor visibility. Daytime running lights alone are insufficient then. On some cars the rear lights do not come on with daytime running lights. Check the lights yourself, even in automatic mode.

Main beam can help in darkness but must not be used when encountering oncoming road users or driving close behind another vehicle. Dip in time to avoid dazzling others.

Front fog lights may be used when fog, snow or rain seriously impairs visibility. The rear fog light requires fog or snowfall and visibility below 50 metres. Heavy rain does not permit using the rear fog light.
