Stopping & parking
Stopping and parking are different actions with different restrictions.
The time directly needed for boarding, alighting or immediate loading and unloading is not parking. Waiting for someone is parking. Leaving the engine running does not change that. Check signs, yellow lines and local rules.
Do not stop on a junction, railway crossing or cycle lane, or on the carriageway alongside a cycle lane. Stopping is prohibited on a pedestrian crossing and within five metres of it. Do not park within five metres of a junction or block an entrance or exit.
In a woonerf, park only in designated spaces. Use disabled parking spaces only when you meet the applicable conditions. Check for cyclists and other traffic before opening a door; open carefully without creating danger.
